What is Twitter?

The people we surround ourselves with have an incredible effect on our lives, and I’ve always chosen my friends carefully for that reason. This works the same way the moon changes our world by creating tides, influencing the earth’s rate of spin, and so on. The earth would be devoid of life without the moon, and so that’s one reason I like to stay connected to the people that inspire me. Twitter allows this influence to exist over distance and time, exerting a special relativity that bends the rules of meaningful connections in our lives.

I’ve often pondered my fascination with twitter and I think Bill Carroll did an amazing job summing up what I love about the site.

Yeah, it’s been almost a year and I’m still doing Twitter–that’s like the equivalent of 7 years in social app life, right?
Thanks for posting that, and thanks for reading the original post. I just noticed the pingback a few days ago, and at almost the same time I had a friend tweet about me saying something similar. Syncronicity
See you on twitter … @billcarroll
